The latest eBay spoof

I've been receiving a lot of eBay spoof messages lately that are designed to look like questions from other eBay members. The format looks a lot like the real thing and the content of the message is usually something like "I paid you, but I haven't received my item." If you get a message like this and aren't sure if it's real, you can do a couple things to protect yourself:

- Go directly to my.ebay.com and log in. If another member has sent you a message via ebay, the message will appear here. If it doesn't, it's a scam.

- Send the questionable message to spoof@ebay.com. They will take a look at the message and let you know whether it is genuine or a fake. This usually takes less than 24 hours.

Protect yourself from eBay scams this holiday. Be sure to check out www.auctionfigure.com for free eBay search tools that find misspelled auctions and filter out scam listings!
